When to Call for Mobile Diesel Repair

If your truck is down and can't be safely driven, call us before you call a tow truck. We can often diagnose remotely before we roll — narrowing the parts we need and cutting your wait time.

Common Mobile Repair Calls

  • No-start — engine cranks but won't fire. Fuel system, air system, or electrical issue. We bring diagnostic equipment and parts for common failures.
  • Hard start — takes multiple attempts, especially cold. Grid heater, glow plug, or fuel system related.
  • Full derate — reduced to limp mode (5 mph). Almost always DEF or aftertreatment. Factory software required to clear properly.
  • Check engine light with performance issues — don't ignore active fault codes with power loss or smoke. We read and clear with factory software on-site.
  • Excessive smoke — black, white, or blue smoke each indicate specific failure types. We diagnose the cause, not just the symptom.
  • Overheating on the road — cooling system failures, thermostat, radiator, or water pump issues diagnosed and repaired on-site where possible.
  • Air system failures — can't build pressure, brakes won't release, air dryer failures. We carry air system components on the service truck.
  • Electrical failures — lights, sensors, starting circuits. We carry common electrical components and a full diagnostic suite.

How fast can you get to me?
It depends on where you are and what else is on the schedule. We're based in Garden City and roll to about an hour out in any direction. Call (208) 809-0305 with your location and we'll give you a straight answer on timing.
What's your mobile service area?
Boise, Garden City, Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell, Middleton, Star, Eagle, Mountain Home, Emmett, Horseshoe Bend, and Ontario, Oregon along the I-84 corridor. Outside that range, call us. We'll do our best.
What can you actually fix on the side of the road?
A lot more than most people expect. No-start diagnosis, derate and fault code clearing, DEF and aftertreatment issues, fuel system problems including lift pumps and injectors, turbocharger diagnosis, cooling and air system repairs, and electrical faults. We carry factory diagnostic software and common parts on the service truck.
Do you charge extra for mobile service?
Give us a call with your location and what the truck is doing and we'll give you a straight number before we roll. We don't like surprise charges any more than you do.
Can you clear a derate on-site?
Often, yes. A full derate to 5 mph is almost always DEF or aftertreatment related. We diagnose with factory software and fix the actual cause rather than just resetting the light, which just brings the derate back.
Do you do mobile service for fleets?
Yes. We offer scheduled on-site maintenance for fleets that can't afford shop downtime, coming to your yard on your schedule rather than pulling trucks off the road one at a time.
